Our Journey

Kinetic Buildings was founded in 2019 to simplify the process of deploying advanced building analytics at scale. While working in the lab of Drexel University’s Building Science Group, we realized that our teams’ combined expertise in machine learning and building science was the perfect combination to develop automated solutions in this field.

Over the past few years, we have been working through all the different segments of “full stack” building analytics to build machine-learning based solutions for each. During this time, we’ve built automated approaches for:

• Data acquisition
• Point-mapping and system modeling
• Automated fault detection & diagnostics (AFDD)
• Optimal control strategies
• Demand management & ADR

While the engineers were busy automating everything they could find, our developers have been building a user experience that makes these complex analytics seem simple and intuitive, and our IT team has been building rock-solid infrastructure to make it all work.

We are now able to deliver not only the most comprehensive building-analytics solution on the market today, but thanks to the automated nature of our solution, we can do it in a rapid, scalable, and cost-effective way.
